Knowing we may need help is a big step, actively seeking it is an even bigger one. Well done for getting here.
I offer sessions in person from my comfortable therapy room in Exeter or online in the UK, via Zoom.

I am a professionally qualified, Integrative Counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I work from a trauma informed perspective and believe that our own experiences are our greatest guide. However, I recognise that we might lose our way in times of difficulty, loss or change. I can help you find your way through these times, by offering you safety, space and connection.
I work alongside you to help increase your self-awareness, resilience, and wellbeing, all within the relationship and connection we develop together. I am a warm and empathetic practitioner offering a non-judgmental, safe place to explore your experiences, thoughts, physical sensations, and feelings holistically. I believe that you are the expert of yourself; my role is to help guide you to your own solutions.
As a counsellor, I do not offer advice, but operate from the belief that the client is able to find their own solutions, given the right conditions. Counselling is a place of safety and space for you, the client, to explore whatever you choose to, at your own pace. It is completely confidential and non-judgmental. Although it is a place to explore your thoughts and feelings, as an Integrative Counsellor, I also help bring awareness to your physical sensations to help teach you grounding and calming techniques. We may also use creativity to help explore your experiences.

If you experience anxiety, you may notice that it can feel like it's taking over your life. It can affect your behaviour, leading you to avoid other people, places and experiences. It can make you feel alone and isolated. I have a special interest in supporting clients who experience anxiety and worry and I can support you by offering an empathetic, safe space to explore your feelings, to help you notice and understand your physical sensations and teach you techniques to calm and ground yourself when you feel overwhelmed.
Children and young people can experience many pressures in their lives but sometimes have not yet developed an understanding or a vocabulary around their emotions and experiences. Perhaps school is feeling like a scary overwhelming place, or family circumstances are changing due to divorce or separation. Perhaps your child is feeling anxious and you are worried about how they are coping. I have many years of professional experience supporting children through challenging times and can offer kindness, acceptance and creativity. I see children under 18 in-person only.
To feel low or depressed, is to occupy a place of feeling very alone. Please don't suffer in your isolation, come and be seen and heard. I know that finding the energy or motivation can be such a struggle at this time; I can support you by being with you, patiently waiting until you are ready to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I offer you understanding and compassion.
Bereavement is possibly the hardest experience in most of our lives. It feels, at times, unbearable. With my experience of working for a loss, change and trauma charity I have helped clients journey through these profoundly difficult times. I can offer you the compassion, time and space you need, to gently move towards a place of recovery, all at your own pace.
Transitions are a natural part of life. If you find you are in the midst of a transition and perhaps need help to navigate through it, I can support you on your journey; be it adolescence, becoming a parent, menopause, retirement or perhaps a transition entirely unique to you, I can help you find an anchor of stability and safety as you move through this time.
Do you find yourself feeling that you would like something different from your life, but that you're not sure how to go about it? Deciding to make change can be wonderful, and much needed. It can also be scary and confusing. Sometimes we simply know we want to make a change and grow into a part of ourselves we are yet to explore. I can offer you acceptance, curiosity and space, supporting you on your journey.

Online counselling may be different to face to face counselling, but it is not a 'second-best' option. If you are interested in having online therapy, please do get in touch, and I can provide you with more information about how to get the most out of your online counselling experience.
